06 Jul 2018, 03:58

Every day thousands of tourists arrive in Peru to visit Machu Picchu and Lima is a mandatory step before a trip to Cusco. During your stay in the capital you will find many things to do but if yours is adventure and nature a great option is Paracas.

Paracas has become one of the most attractive tourist areas of the entire Peruvian coast. This is due to its great diversity of fauna and flora preserved in the Paracas National Reserve, making the area the only protected area in the entire country. You can see animals such as dolphins, Humboldt penguins, sea lions or parihuanas, among others, thanks to the various excursions offered to tourists. It is very easy to get to Paracas and it only takes 3 to 4 hours, which are worth it for the variety of activities you can do. Here we present to you some of our daily excursions!

Paracas National Reserve
Discover the natural wonder of the Paracas National Reserve, protected by the Peruvian state and created to preserve a portion of the sea and desert of Peru and protect the various species of wild flora and fauna that are housed there. The Reserve also possesses a landscape richness appropriate for the best photographic shoots, in addition, it has a great number of species of marine mammals, reptiles, birds and several marine species.

Ballestas Islands
Contemplate the maritime and ecological richness of Peru, embark early in the morning in a small speedboat on the waters of the Sea of Grau to visit Ballestas Islands; A group of islands that are home to an important marine fauna, including large colonies of guano birds, Humboldt penguins and sea lions (fine sea lion and half-breed sea lion) among other species. Prepare your camera to take magnificent photographs of the bio-diversity of the area as well as the famous Paracas Candelabra which can be seen on the way to the Islands.

Kayaks Ride by the Sea
Explore and enjoy this experience that will spark your curiosity. We invite you to cross the bay of Paracas in comfortable kayaks, silent boats that do not pollute with a capacity for one or two people. The excursion begins with the transfer to Punta Pejerrey, former seashell camp inside the National Reserve of Paracas where you will receive a safety briefing and will be assigned with equipment and the simple indications as well as rowing techniques. We will walk to Atenas beach, where we can observe cormorants, pelicans, and seagulls of the area. Then we enter Punta Ballenas, sailing against the wind shallow waters where mollusks rest and lucky flamingos at the end of it. We return to Punta Pejerrey. This is an ideal activity for the whole family and does not require previous experience or physical fitness.
