Day 1: Lima

Arrival in Lima, assistance, and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Lima Meals: None

Day 2: Lima/Paracas/Nazca Lines

In the morning transfer to the station to take your bus to Paracas bay. At your arrival transfer to Pisco airport to overfly the enigmatic Nazca Lines in a small aircraft and discover their mystery. In this amazing tour, you will gaze these giant figures that the ancient Peruvians left marked on the vast Nazca prairie, proof of the wisdom of our genius ancestors. Dr. Maria Reiche, German archeologist who dedicated her life to studying the lines described them as the largest astronomical calendar in the world. We will fly over these mysterious images drawn in the sand that represent several animal shapes such as a spider, a monkey, a dog, a humming bird, a condor, amongst others. Their large dimensions reach 50 ft. to 985 ft. in length and one-foot depth. At the end, transfer back to your hotel in Paracas. Rest of the day at leisure, activities on your own. Day 3: Paracas – Ballestas Island/Lima

Admire the marine and the ecological Peruvian wealth. Early morning departure to the pier to board comfortable water slides and sail around the Ballestas Islands. There is an important marine wildlife in the area where you will find large colonies of sea birds such as the guanay, the booby, the tendril and some Peruvian Penguins (Humboldt), seals (fur seals and sea lion) besides other species. Prepare your camera to take amazing pictures of the biodiversity in this area and the famous Candelabro de Paracas (Paracas Chandelier) which is part of the Nazca Lines. Return to Paracas, leisure time to do activities on your own. Transfer to the station to take your bus return to Lima. Accommodation in Lima.

Day 4: Lima/Cusco – City Tour & Archaeological Park

At the arranged time transfer from your hotel in Lima to the airport for your flight to Cusco Imperial City. At arrival assistance, and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of Cusco city, an interesting journey where you will learn about Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), ancient place of worship to the Sun, God of the Incas where the convent of Santo Domingo was built, gaze the beauty of Cusco city´s Main Square and admire the most representative sculptures and paintings of Cusco´s Art inside the cathedral. Touring the city suburbs, we will visit the Inca complexes of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara and the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its external walls built with huge stones cut and assembled with stunning precision. Day 5: Cusco/Sacred Valley of the Incas

Visit the Sacred Valley, a picturesque tour where you can see important archaeological remains, landscapes, and village customs. This tour starts with the first stop at Awanacancha Complex, here you can have the chance to feed Andean Camelids such as llamas and alpacas; you will also meet local people who will show their techniques for weaving in their sites. The tour will include the visit of the typical Pisaq Market where you can have the chance to shop or buy handicrafts and try the traditional costumes. Enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo Fortress, made up by series of overlapped steps and terraces, built to protect the city from any invasion coming from the jungle through this part of the valley. You’ll have the opportunity to walk the narrow streets of the village and get a first-hand feeling of this military, religious and cultural center of the Inca Empire. Transfer to the hotel. Day 6: Cusco/Machu Picchu/Cusco

Live one of the most fascinating and extraordinary experiences of the world: touring Machu Picchu. The adventure begins by embarking on one of the most beautiful railway routes, go through picturesque Andean landscapes and enjoy the amazing lush jungle until you arrive at the Aguas Calientes town; here you´ll take the bus for a 30-minute drive along a zigzagging path leading to the marvelous citadel. Machu Picchu may have been home to Pachacutec, first Inca emperor and is now one of the New 7 Wonders of the modern world. Walk through go passageways and alleys of the citadel, witness the architectonic greatness of the Inca Empire and Enjoy this unique place in the world. Take free time to enjoy the mystical energy and natural beauty of the site before returning to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, you will take your train back to Cusco. Day 7: Cusco/Puno – The Route of the Sun

Embark on a comfortable tour bus and go through beautiful Andean landscapes up to the city of Puno in the high plateau. On the way, you will see several touristic attractions such as Iglesia San Pedro de Andahuaylillas (Saint Peter of Andahuaylillas church), also known as the Sistine Chapel of America; the archaeological center of Raqch’i, an enormous building in honor of the Wiracocha God. The bus will stop for lunch at Sicuani village before continuing to La Raya, the village at the highest point on the route (14,223 feet). Here you can enjoy few minutes to admire the landscape and take some photos before continuing to Pukara, the last stop on route for a guided visit of the museum that shelters archaeological remains of the Andean cultures who lived on the high plateau. Day 8: Puno/Titicaca Lake/Puno

Sail the waters of Lake Titicaca. Early in the morning, you will start an excursion to the highest lake in the world (12,500 feet). The tour includes a visit to Uros Island where you can go by comfortable motor boats. Uros is part of Aymara ethnic family of islands that live on artificial islands made of Totora (floating reed). From here you can reach Taquile Island, gifted with several hills and harboring archaeological sites, the island’s main activity are textiles (manual work of art) representing scenes of everyday life. You will have lunch at a nearby local place. Transfer back to Puno city. Accommodation in Puno.

Day 9: Puno/Lima
