ITINERARY

Day 1: City Tour Lima and Larco Herrera Museum

Arrival in Lima, assistance and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, your tour explores Miraflores and San Isidro, the modern districts of Lima and its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The tour includes a visit of San Francisco, the city's most visited church (1674). Its underground tunnels lead to catacombs that served as cemetery until 1808 and still contain bones and skulls. Our next stop is the Larco Herrera Museum. The collection allows the understanding of 3,000 years of the Peruvian pre-Columbian history in an intuitive way. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of pre-Inca art and have been displayed in the world's most renowned museums. Accommodation in Lima.

Day 2: Lima/Cusco - City Tour & Archaeological Park.

Arrival in Cusco, assistance and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of Cusco, an interesting journey where you will learn about the Temple of the Sun "Koricancha", ancient place of worship to the Sun God of the Incas where the convent of Santo Domingo was located, admire the beauty of the Main Square of Cusco and observe the most known sculptures and paintings in Cuzcanian Art inside the cathedral. Continuing the city suburbs, we will visit the Inca complexes of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its huge stones of its external walls, cut and assembled with stunning precision. Accommodation in Cusco.

Day 3: Cusco/Maras & Moray/Cusco

You will have the opportunity to explore further into Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our excursion starts in Maras, the picturesque village surrounded by beautiful countryside, where you can find salt mines of the same name. These salt mines date back to Inca colonial times and transform the local landscape in a particular way; the contrast of the white pools with green valley is stunning for a spectacular postcard of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then you will go to Moray, an incredible archaeological complex, formed by agricultural terraces that overlap, taking the shape of a giant amphitheater. The view is breathtaking. The idea was to recreate 20 types of microclimates to ensure the agricultural production of the empire. Finally walk around Maras, famous and ancient salt mines of the colonial era. Day 4: Cusco/Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Visit the Sacred Valley, a picturesque tour where you can see important archaeological remains, landscapes and village customs. This tours starts with a first stop at Awanacancha Complex, here you can have the chance to feed Andean Camelids such as "llamas" and "alpacas"; also you can have the opportunity to meet local people who will show their techniques for weaving in their local sites. The tour will include the visit of the typical Pisaq Market where you can have the opportunity to shop or buy local handcrafts and try the traditional local costumes. Enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit Ollantaytambo Fortress, made up by series of overlapped steps and terraces, built to protect the city from any invasion coming from the jungle through this part of the valley. You will have the opportunity to walk the narrow streets of the village and get a first-hand feeling of this military, religious and cultural center of the Inca Empire. Accommodation in Sacred Valley.

Day 5: Sacred Valley/ Machu Picchu/Cusco.

Live one of the most fascinating and extraordinary experiences of the world: Machu Picchu. The adventure begins by embarking on one of the most beautiful railway routes, pass through picturesque Andean landscapes and enjoy the amazing lush jungle until you arrive to the City of Aguas Calientes; here you´ll take the bus for a 30 minute drive along a zigzaging path leading to the marvelous citadel. Machu Picchu may have been home to Pachacutec, first Inca emperor. Walk through passageways and alleys of the citadel enjoy and take in this unique place in the world. Take free time to enjoy the mystic energy and natural beauty of the site before returning to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon you´ll take your train back to Cusco. Accommodation in Cusco.

Day 6: Cusco/Lima/International departure

Transfer from the hotel to the airport to board your flight back to Lima and immediately take your connecting international flight.
